Dott. Francesco is involved in research and supporting researchers in the design and implementation of their experiments using state-of-the-art flow cytometry analyzers and performing cell sorting. He is also responsible for training new users of equipment and application software. He also has strong skills in Biochemistry and Cellular Biology.

He is a contract professor in SSD BIO/13 Animal Biology in STEPS 2019-2023

Technical skills

Flow cytometry: expertise with BD Facs Melody, Attune NxT; expertise in multiparametric flow cytometry; proliferation assay; cell cycle and single-cell sorting; isolating CD24+ CD44+ CD166+ and Colorectal Cancer STEM cells. Single cells for RNA seq for analysis of sister chromosome exchange. CD137 assay for CD4+ and CD8+ specific activation, CD8+ exhaustion, and study of exhaustion markers in different cancer types; Immuno Metabolism, Oxidative Stress GSH and ROS evaluation by Flowcytometry. Sorting antigen-specific cells and GFP cells. As a flow cytometry and Sorting Specialist, he is responsible for executing the different types of sorting. Its experience includes operating and performing independently troubleshooting on cell sorters equipment, customizing the instrument to fulfill the experimental needs of the user (rare events, different shapes, and dimensions of cells), supporting in panel design and multi-parametric setup instructor in the initial training on the use of instrumentation, high dimensional flow cytometry analysis. He is also involved in the training of new researchers and in solving scientific and technical problems that may occur during their experiments.
